Super Retailer's Revenge
It's no secret that sellers looking to lighten their load go online with their booty forcing we collectors to go to ebay and half.com rather than flea markets, yard sales and the local newspaper. We have to search even harder to find those diamonds in the rough locally. The flip side of the internet selling/buying boom however is that retailers, even major ones, are becoming overlooked sources of good, cheap and collectable games. Roses still has left over Playstation, Gameboy, Game Gear, Genesis, SNES and even NES games in some locations. The goodness is not restricted only to classics. Kmart has become one of my favorite haunts for finding deals on last gen systems. They always have clearance games behind those glass doors (Don't be afraid to ask them to open up!). Here is what I found just yesterday.
DS "Contact" $12.00
DS "Elite Beat Agents" $12.00
DS "Bombermanland" $15.00
DS "Clubhouse Games" $20.00
DS "Contra 4" $20.00
PS2 "Killer 7" $9.99
Gamecube "Animaniacs" $14.99
Remember, today's obscure bargain bin finds are tomorrow's crown jewels. Don't count those brick and mortar dinosaurs out just yet!

"Atari" film in the works
Paramount Pictures have given the green light to create a film about Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari called "Atari". Actor Leonardo DiCaprio (Titanic, The Departed, you know this dude, trust me) will be producing and playing the lead role and the script was written by Brian Hecker (Bart Got a Room) and Craig Sherman who convinced Bushnell they could respectfully present his story. For more information go to Variety!

"Impressive Human!"
The gang and I recently got together for some Atari Stunt Cycle action in a hidden underground bunker. Those present included gamebotoids Matt, James, Evan and Scott, my brother.Scott acquired this little jewel at the TooManyGames convention in May and all have become hooked! Here are some of the top scores of the night... caught on tape!
Stunt Cycle Highscore (MOTOCROSS 2.28 PRO)
Stunt Cycle Highscore (MOTOCROSS 2.15 AM)
If you would like to know more about Atari Stunt Cycle, download Gamebot Live Episode 13 while it is still available and check out Matt's excellent coverage at therobotgamer.com
I personally requested that this game be added to the Twin Galaxies scoreboard but as of this writing, no reply has been received. Stay tuned for more updates.

TooManyGames!
The most important aspect however, and our reason for being there were the mountains of games and systems from decades ago for sale, buy and trade! The vendors included Gooddealgames, Mad Gear, Classic Plastic and more plus various collectors and traders from the region. The items we saw included R.O.B., boxed games for Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision, NES and many other consoles, Atari Video Music, Earthbound, SMS 3D glasses, Neo Geo Pocket, Amiga, C64 among much else.
So what did we get? Listen to Gamebot Live Episode 13 for full details but here are some of the highlights...
- Blake: Super Cobra for Atari 2600 and Valis III for Sega Genesis.
- Matt: Metroid 2 for Gameboy and Towering Inferno (boxed) for the Atari 2600.
- Scott: TI-99 Voice Module and Crossforce for the Atari 2600.
TooManyGames is put together by Chuck Whitby and is the current incarnation of ECGX, his East Coast classic gaming expo started back in 2004.
